Imperial Germans II

The Regimental Machine Gun Company (or at least two thirds of it):

With a close-up of one of the crews - not perfect I know, but certainly table ready :-)

The 1st battalion has now been based:

With the 2nd battalion and brigade cavalry hard on its heels, we may even be able to roll some dice soon. Time to get some Russians ready...

  1. Excellent work! What game system do you use for your historicals?

    1. Phil Robinson and Dave Bickley have kindly shared their wip rules. So we're going to give them a run out shortly once I've a few more units complete :-)

Otherwise I use Black Powder for Napoleonics and a home brew version of Donnybrook for the Medievals.

  2. Nice work! These are valuable assets to your force. I hosted a WW1 game yesterday using Bolt Action for rules - they played out great. Best, Dean

  3. I really love the color scheme of the early war Germans. The faded olive against the sandy helmet with the red piping and sign as contrast. You've done a beautiful job with these Stephen, may I ask what colors you've chosen for the helmets?
Looking forward to those Russians too!

    Best regards

    1. Thanks Søren. I generally use Citadel paints and the helmets start off with XV-89, but have varying amounts of yellow and white mixed in as I highlight - all a bit impressionistic, I'm afraid ;-)

    2. I've taken notes here Stephen thanks! Had a "Battle of the Marne" project on my WW1 anniversary list, but the Russian front is really brilliant too for a project, you've got Tannenberg et.c. What minis will you use - Tsuba?

    3. Brigade Miniatures, but I may well add some Tsuba :-)
