First two squadrons of French light horse painted up as 29th Chasseurs a Cheval, making a medium sized cavalry unit for Black Powder:
Standard three tone shading on the figures and the old sponge and oils technique on their mounts.
Third and Fourth squadrons en route. Figures are by Pete Morbey of Elite Miniatures :-)
Great looking unit Stephen, that old sponge technique still holds sway. Makes an excellent impression when based and displayed.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't tried it since a teenager back in the 80s. Surface to say, it went better this time :-)
DeleteNice looking Chasseurs; the mainstay of the French cavalry
ReplyDeleteYes, indeedy, and only six more squadrons of them to do!
DeleteMarvelous painting and figures!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Phil :-)
DeleteGreat looking unit, the impression of movement is very nice, and the paint job excellent...
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil. Yes, Pete really captures the energy of a moving unit :-)
