Numidian Light Horse

A small unit of Numidian light horse to help keeps irritations off the Legions' flank.

To pre-empt debate on Numidian skin tones, these are from a tribe to the western edge of Numidian North Africa. ;-)

More to follow next week, when I hope to give you a post-Tactica photo dump.

If Jim Bibbly turns up in any of them, I will warn you in advance to avoid any unpleasantness.

Spring Offensive V

The third of the battalions, Fergusson's Regiment of Foot, which in due course became 26th Regiment.

Although in English service, Fergussan's was a Scottish regiment and carried the White Saltire on its colours (nicely produced by Flags of War).

The thistle design on the grenadier cap is speculative.

Great Northern War II

Another test paint. This time a Front Rank figure painted up to represent an officer from Prins Georgs Regiment c.1704.

After so long in foreign service, he is somewhat more elaborately dressed than the norm and wears a sash in British colours. Opinion on the tunic colour is mixed. With grey and blue being the top two options I went for a pragmatic grey-blue ;-)

Great Northern War I

Very early days, but a taster to what is to come:

The figure was given out at Crisis 2013 in Antwerp and has been painted to represent an officer of the Danish Livgard til Fods c.1704. He'll eventually join the brigade command stand alongside another officer who is still on the painting tray and a commander yet to be identified...

Spring Offensive IV

The last of the Foot Guards took some time, but I expect they'll be the most intricate unform I'll face with the British force at least. So here are the right flank companies:

The 1st Foot Guards advancing in review order:

Lord North and Grey's battalion awaiting to march on:
